The fastest ways to get your will under control are:

1. Deep breathing exercises, which have a calming effect on the mind, putting you into a different mental state.
2. Autosuggestion – repeating instructions to your subconscious mind, in a spirit of deep enthusiasm, regarding the type of person you want to be.
3. Mentally picturing the type of person you want to be when you use auto-suggestion.

This three-step formula is best started when we are young, as it lays in incredible foundation for future successes. But the good news is that it can be started at any time in one’s life, even when a person is in ill health. Start today. Give yourself one sentence of self-instruction and picture it in your mind. Tell yourself something like, ‘When I make up my mind to do something, I do it.’ Now picture what this would look like while you say this. Say it 10 times aloud in the morning and ten times again before bed. And stand back and watch your world change for the better.
